What a miserable Monday night: Bills v Chiefs week 6 recap

Well that was just awful, I knew going into a game against the reigning super bowl champions wasn't going to be easy. But I expected us to at least put up a fight, use the shitbag weather to our advantage, and not just sit there and take it all night long like we did.

Did I expect the reigning Super Bowl MVP Patrick Mahomes to be an issue? of course I did, but did I expect us to just not hit him or apply any pressure whatsoever? No. Play after play the pocket would break down and Mahomes would break off and NO ONE hit him or even tried to push him out of bounds.

If you think not trying to defend the best QB in the league was a problem, how about giving up 245 rushing yards (which is a franchise record) with Clyde Edwards-Helaire getting 161 yards (his career high). Just like with Mahomes nobody was even trying to bring Helaire down, that highlighted the biggest issue that we saw last week where all Tennessee had to do is to get under 5 yards on a 3rd down and was an immediate 1st down every single time.

The Pass defence wasn't much better, the corners were always two or three steps in front of the wide receivers giving Mahomes all day long to pick out the open guy down field. What really killed was both Micah Hyde and Tre'Davious White picking up stupid fucking personal fouls hitting the recievers out of bounds when we were down 10 in the 4th. What happened to the defence of last year, one of the best defences in the league looks like a shell of themselves for two weeks in a row now and something major has to change.

Now onto the offence, just a piss poor performance from Josh Allen going 14/27 for 122 yards is a far cry from the last 5 weeks of close to if not more than 300 yards of offence. The O-Line falling apart just like last week led to a lot of those incompletions and led to us turning more towards the run game. Devin Singletary looked decent and it was nice to have Zach Moss back but we couldn't run it every time because Kansas shut it down as soon as we got it rolling.

Some positive news I guess is that Josh made more history becoming the second QB in NFL history to have 15 Passing TD's and 3 Rushing TD's in the first 6 games of the season. I don't want to get too down even though we looked horrible again, we are 4-2 alone at the top of the division which isn't the worst place to be 6 games into the season. The defence needs a major revamp and the O-Line needs to be able to go back to giving Josh more than 2 seconds before he has to scramble.

We need to get back on track in a big way and thankfully we play the 0-6 Jets next, which should hopefully be the bounceback game this game was supposed to be. But let's keep our heads up Bills Mafia and remember this isn't going to be a perfect season but it can't be as bad as this.
